You are now touring virtually in KUKUP FISHING VILLAGE
If you are a Singaporean, then you may travel to Kukup in 3 ways. The easiest and traffic-jam-free route is taking a ferry tour from World Trade Center via sea route to Kukup. Secondly, you may drive through the Woodland Causeway or the Gelang Patah-Tuas Second Link. If you are travelling by route from Johor Bahru, just look for the route heading towards PONTIAN, then turn left at the traffic light junction heading towards KUKUP. There is only ONE road to and fro Kukup. You use the same road to reach Kukup and go back to Johor Bahru. Thirdly, you can take a taxi or a bus tour from Johor Bahru heading also to PONTIAN first, then take a taxi from the Pontian taxi station to Kukup. The taxi fare from Pontian to Kukup is about RM 2.00 - RM 2.50 (Singapore S$1.00 or USD$0.60).
When you are in Kukup, you may also want to visit the Southmost tip of the Asia Continental- the Tanjong Piai, another tourist attraction where you may watch firefly during the evening, and also you can enjoy the Muslim seafood. This is quite a rural place and you can only reach there if you own a car. You will see 2 Malay built on stilts restaurants stretching towards the sea in Tanjong Piai. You can have a very clear view of the Singapore Jurong Industral Area if the weather is good. You can also see many ocean tankers and liners passing by the Straits of Malacca. And definitely you can witness yourself the most beautiful sunset here.
